The survey information was taken <br />using RTK GPS shots tied 10 the FEMA FIRM panel for the area (Figure 1.8). The <br />Reference Mark #6 shown on the FI RM panel was field located and all elevation shots <br />were taken relative to the USGS disk stamped "S 348 1953." The disk is located along <br />the Denver and Rio Grande Westem Railroad. set in the top oflhe west end of the south <br />concrete abutment of bridge 115.38 W. as shovm on the FIRM panel. <br /> <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />Information on storm characteristics. such as the recorded rainfall amount. was readily <br />available for this event. Total precipitation amounts for this storm event were obtained <br />from several different sources including both amateur sources. such as weather data <br />monitoring volunteers (i.e. CoCoRal IS). and national weather bureaus.
