As sh(wln on the elTective FIRM below, the area along 40th Street is all shown to he
within the lloodplain designated as Zone A9. This area is back-flooded by overtopping at
the sOllth end. As this is a backwater area, the corresponding Base Floud Elevations
(BFEs) arc less than the BFEs shown just to the right within the adjacent creek.
Basically, the entire area including both the Dickey Property and the Trollsvillc
Neighborhood is shown to be inundated to an elevation of 4740 during the I DO-year
event. Based upon the survey dala ofhigh-watcr marks. the water level on the Dickey
property rose to an elevation of approximately 4741.8 and the elevation in the Trollsvillc
Neighborhood rose to roughly 4740.0. lIad the second breach ufthe embankment not
been made, the depth of nooding on the Dickey Property would likely have increased and
the depth of water in the Trollsville Neighborhood would have risen to the same
elevation.
