IBCC Colorado River Basin <br />Minutes of Meeting on September 24, 2007 <br />Discussion of Water Availability Study <br />1. Next Meeting: Monday, October 22, HOTEL COLORADO, Glenwood Springs, 1:00 to 4:00. <br />a. Agenda: Joint meeting with the IBCC. The IBCC will have its monthly meeting in at the <br />HOTEL COLORADO at 9:00 am ,and CBRT members are welcome to attend. The <br />CBRT will present issues to the IBCC at the October meeting, starting at its regular time <br />of 1:00 PM. <br />2. Approve July 2007 meeting minutes. The June 2007 nunutes were approved unanimously with <br />no corrections. <br />Reporter: These minutes were prepared by Ken Ransford, Esq., CPA, 970-927-1200, <br />kenransford~comcast.net. <br />4. Upcoming meetings: <br />a. The CBRT non-consumptive needs assessment (NCNA) subcommittee will meet Monday <br />October 22 at 10:00 AM at the Glenwood Springs Community Recreation Center prior to the <br />regularly scheduled monthly meeting. <br />b. The November 26ti' CBRT meeting will focus on the presentation of SB 179 Grant Requests <br />The December 17`'' CBRT meeting will include a presentation about the PSOP, and <br />proposed bills to increase the storage capacity in the Arkansas River basin. The Preferred <br />Storage Option Plan is a proposal to provide additional Arkansas Basin Storage within the <br />Frying Pan-Arkansas Project System to provide for additional uses on the Front Range. <br />Mike McHugh of Aurora, Jim Broderick of Southeast Colorado Water Conservancy District, <br />Wayne Vanderscheure of Colorado Springs, Rose Ann Sullivan of Pitkin County, Rachel <br />Richards of Aspen and Chris Treese of Colorado River District will make presentations. <br />d. Additionally, the December 17ti' meeting will have a presentation on the progress of the Non- <br />Consumptive Work group. <br />5. Report from other Roundtables -None. <br />6. CWCB Report. The CWCB approved SB 179 grants at the August meeting. Of 19 grants <br />submitted, 15 were passed. Two of the 3 rants submitted by the CBRT passed: <br />a. The Missouri heights well moiutoring study passed. <br />b. Bull Creek Reservoir #5 spillway improvement passed. <br />c. Bull Creek Reservoir #4 enlargement request failed because the CWCB felt there were not <br />enough beneficiaries to justify statewide fiinding. <br />An updated table of grants that the CBRT has submitted to the CWCB is listed on the last page <br />of these minutes.
