Table 3 lists some current funding sources for fishery-related <br />environmental restora'jon actions. Considenible effort is now being directed toward options for the <br />environmental sector that focus on habitat restoration (e.g.. fish screening. spawning gravel' <br />,replenishment. riparian \;1abitat enhancement) rather than relying solely on additional dedication of <br />water. As indicated in the table, substantial funding is available for these activities. Many proposed <br />restoration actions arE in the early stages of consideration and planning, and will eventually b~' . <br />eligible for constructio n fundin&. from the sources shown here. , <br /> <br />As you read through the table. you will notice that Proposition 204, pass~d in November 1996 <br />by California voters, is a,new source of funding for some of these programs.
