I <br />. The peer-review IRP formed by GCMRC in 1997 only provides reviews on an <br />I <br />individual project basis, it does not provide programmatic review. It is not constituted <br /> <br />as a stLdiog body, but rather is constituted on an individual basis for each specific <br /> <br />revieJ task. <br /> <br />The Nltional Research Council has been contracted with by GCMRC to review the <br /> <br />LongJerm Strategic Plan and the FY 98 and FY 99 Annual Plans. <br /> <br /> <br />An IRP is still need~ to address the responsibilities identified in the GCDEIS: "The review panel(s) <br /> <br /> <br />wonld be responsible! for periodically reviewing resource specific monitoring and researcb programs <br /> <br />and for making reconllnendations to the AMWG and the Center [GCMRC] regarding monitoring, <br />! <br />i <br />priorities, integrationl and management." <br /> <br />PURPOSE I <br />To establish a sciencr Advisory Board (SAB) as one of the IRPs outlined in the GCDEIS. <br /> <br />. <br />
