0003 19

uses total up properly and that unused apportionments are divided
properly. Appendix B describes the way unused apportionments
have been divided between the Lower Basin states. Reclamation
has not developed for distribution a user friendly worksheet for
automatically performing the distribution of unused
apportionments. All uses, as are all units of annual volumes in
CRSSez are as 1000 acre-feet. CONUSE.DAT requires 2 title lines.

Table 1 shows the current CONUSE.DAT file.

CY--Calendar year. Uses are for a January through December year.
EZ can be ran on a different year such as a Water Year, but uses
and maximum contents for flood control space need to be adjusted.

U.BASIN--Scheduled uses (1000-acft) above Glen Canyon Dam. These
values were provided by the Upper Colorado River Commission. The
user should read the title lines for any newer changes. These
uses do not include reservoir evaporation which the model
computes separately.

L.BASIN--Normal year mainstem uses below Glen Canyon Dam that are
chargeable to the Lower Division states apportionments. This has
to be the total of SNWS + NVother + CAP + AZother + MWD +
CAother. These uses by the Lower Division states include return
flow credit for unmeasured return flows. The gains in the Lower
Basin have been adjusted to include estimates of these unmeasured
return amounts. Appendix C contains information on each Lower
Basin user used to develop this schedule.

SYS.AH--System uses above Hoover. These uses are on tributary
gains and are not chargeable to the Lower Division states
mainstem apportionments.

SYS.BH--System uses below Hoover. These are unassigned uses for
Lakes Mohave and Havasu evaporation (335 kaf), phreatophytes (515
kaf), and bypass to Mexico (120 kaf).

SNWS--Pumping from Mead. Nevada use from Lake Mead by the
Southern Nevada Water System and some other smaller Nevada uses
of about 15 kaf.

NVother--Nevada uses below Hoover.

MWD--The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California use
below Hoover.

CAother--California use w/o MWD below Hoover.

CAP--Central Arizona Project use below Hoover.

AZother--Arizona use w/o CAP below Hoover.

15
