030298

inflow computed above plus random normal error.
b. Compute effective space as target maximum contents of
Upper, Powell, and Mead minus current contents adjusted for
shoreline bank storage plus evaporation plus Hoover releases plus
Mead pumping plus average gain between Hoover and Glen.
c. If inflow greater than effective space then declare
surplus.

7. Determine surplus by strategy. If forecast inflow minus
surplused release still exceeds space then increase scheduled
flow to Mexico by difference. This accounts for the forecast
error causing an excess release to Mexico.

8) Determine any water to be bankedlunbanked and adjust schedule.

9) Determine Lower Basin shortage by checking beginning Mead
elevation with trigger and reduce CAP and SNWS if lower. Banked
water may be used to avoid shortage.

10) Run actual regulated and depleted gains through Powell and
iteratively balance with evaporation..
a. If excess to objective release through Glen then increase
Upper reservoir storage by difference (Powell is full).
b. If less than objective release then get from Upper
reservoir (Powell is empty).

11) Add gains above Hoover to Glen release and subtract uses
above Hoover and run through Hoover and iteratively balance with
evaporation.
a. If Hoover release less than objective then increase
shortage to CAP and SNWS by difference and rerun Mead at line 11
(Mead is empty). If CAP zero and Mead empty, limit release to
inflow minus losses, reduce others and Mexico in proportion to us
shortage.
b. If Hoover release greater than objective then deduct
spill from Powell objective release and rerun starting at Powell
line 10 (Mead is full).
c. If Powell contents greater than Mead then determine 602a
requirement, and increase Powell objective release by half the
difference up to 602a and rerun starting at Powell line 10.

12) Check for mass balance and abort run if not.

13) Compute Glen and Hoover energy.

14) Remove water banking evaporation and spill from bank
accounts.

15) Remove sediment from contents of the 3 reservoirs and
recompute capacity tables and minImax content limits.

16) Print end of year values.

4
