Partnerships should be established and founded on
information sharing;

· The workshop should emphasize developing multi-objective community mitigation
plans as fundamental to project and program development;

· The workshop should be professionally facilitated by personnel experienced in
assisting communities develop local plans;

· The workshop should provide a mechanism for identifying unresolved issues and
following-up with answers, commitments, or alternatives; and

· The workshop should provide an opportunity for informal social gatherings where
individual issues and questions could be addressed on a one-on-one basis.

SETI1NG THE AGENDA

Objective
The workshop agenda will not only guide the progress of the workshop, it will serve to
meet the objectives of the workshop framework. Equally important, the agenda will serve
as the primary means to attract the target audience. An agenda that meets the needs of
the intended audience will motivate them to take the time, expense, and energy to attend.
Thus, the agenda is critical to the success of the workshop.
