Additional water could be diverted from the West Slope under existing water rights. <br />Currently, diversions must be curtailed when existing storage space is fun. <br /> <br />· Existing water rights owned by entities in the District could be maximized. For <br />example, additional 45~OOO af of storage in the Arkansas Basin would provide <br />Colorado Springs with a major portiori of the finn yield needed to meet its long..;range <br />water needs using its existing water rights.
