<br />Section 4: This final section consists of property that is held by the Bureau of Land <br />Management, on which the Town of Buena Vista is in the process of obtaining a long term lease <br />or a Cooperative Management Agreement. BV Falls are located within this section and are <br />visually exciting as well as provide class III whitewater at the tail end ofthe project area. This <br />rapid should be left largely undisturbed, however, some selective safety enhancements will be <br />constructed immediately upstream of the rapid including repairing the existing rip rap on river- <br />left. The tail-out ofBV Falls will also remain fairly untouched other than a few minor in-stream <br />enhancements. <br /> <br />Finally, a river access take out will be constructed on the river right shore, 200 feet before the <br />Ramsour Bridge to protect the private property that is located directly downstream of the bridge. <br />With the placement ofthe takeout, visitors of the project should be no closer than 200 feet to the <br />private land, with the exception the existing pass through traffic. <br /> <br /> <br />Ramsour Bridge <br />and proposed river <br />takeout <br /> <br />No Action Alternative: Under the No Action Alternative, no trails or whitewater structures <br />would be constructed on BLM land. The current management of dispersed recreation <br />opportunities would continue. <br /> <br />ALTERNATIVES CONSIDERED BUT NOT CARRIED FORWARD: <br /> <br />1. Constructing a concrete upper trail rather than a natural surface trail on the BLM lands.
