CONI

Application for Water Efficiency Grant:
Irrigation Control System Demonstration

Applicant:

Castle Pines North Metropolitan District
7404 Yorkshire Drive
Castle Rock, Colorado 80104

Contact:

Jim McGrady, Manager
303-688-8550
jmcgrady@cpnmd.org

The Castle Pines North Metropolitan District (District) developed a Water
Conservation Plan that was approved by the Colorado Water Conservation Board
(CWCB) in summer 2006. One of the goals set forth in that Plan is to closely monitor
District irrigation on parks and open space. In efforts to meet this goal and conserve
water, the District proposes to install a CALSENSE irrigation management system.
This project would also serve statewide interests. Given the fact that landscape
irrigation typically comprises over 50 percent of summertime municipal water system
demands in Colorado, this project could demonstrate the use and practicality of an
irrigation efficiency technology that could be implemented to reduce municipal
demands throughout Colorado.

This document is an application for grant monies offered by the CWCB for the
development and installation of the CALSENSE irrigation management system. This
application was developed in accordance with CWCBls "Guidelines for the Water
Efficiency Grant Program. II

This grant application includes the following major sections:

. Section 1: District Water Demands and Supplies
. Section 2: Water Conservation
. Section 3: Irrigation Management System Overview
. Section 4: Scope of Work
. Section 5: Project Schedule
. Section 6: Budget Cost Estimate

1

C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTlNGS\l!LACKCAIDESKTOPICPNGRAlffiWATER EFFICIENCY GRANT PROGRAM APPI.lCATION.DOC
