COM

Castle Pines North Metropolitan District
Application for Water Efficiency Grant

Although not within the scope of this project, if the Irrigation Management System is
proven successful, the District plans to encourage the HOAs within its service area to
"tap into" the District's Irrigation Management System. The HOAs would purchase
their own flow meters and communication accessories, yet would use the District's
weather station and control center. This could significantly improve irrigation
efficiency and extend the benefits and water savings throughout the District's service
area.

4.2 Proj eet Tasks

The following tasks outline the major actions needed to install and initiate operation
of the Irrigation Management System. The roles and responsibilities of each
participant and deliverables for each task is also provided.

Task 1 - Phase I Installation

Purpose
This task involves the installation of the weather station, central control station,
meters, valves, and communication accessories needed to manage the irrigation on
Upper Coyote Ridge and Lower Coyote Ridge parks.

Roles and Responsibilities
The District plans to purchase the equipment from Ewing Irrigation. Ewing Irrigation
would work closely with the District in installing the equipment. Parker Electric
would be responsible for the installation of electrical lines for the centralized Weather
Station. The District would coordinate and facilitate the installation effort with
representatives from Calsense and Ewing Irrigation. Table 4 at the end of this section
outlines the specific responsibilities, billing rates, and anticipated service time for
District staff and other responsible parties.

Deliverables
Contingent on grant funding availability, the District plans to begin the installation in
July 2007. Section 5.0 provides a preliminary schedule.

Task 2 - Phase II Installation

Purpose
This task involves the installation of the remaining meters, valves, and
communication accessories needed to manage the irrigation on Retreat Park, South
Open Space Park, North Open Space Park, and Daniels Gate Park.

Roles and Responsibilities
The District plans to purchase the equipment from Ewing Irrigation. Ewing Irrigation
would work closely with the District in installing the equipment. The District would
be responsible for coordinating and facilitating the installation effort.
