<br />- 12 - <br /> <br />floodplains to replace the existing Zone D floodplains should go preliminary this year. <br />Grand County should have effective maps in January of 2008. Fremont County is <br />currently in the 6 month compliance phase prior to effective maps. <br /> <br />FY07 Counties: Scopes of Work (SOW) are being created by the two contracted <br />consultants for Delta, Summit and EI Paso Counties. Some work is still being done to <br />research costs and gather cost share funding for upgrading the Fountain Creek hydraulics <br />within EI Paso County. The MAS has been submitted to FEMA for a digiatal converstion <br />project for Park County with hopeful funding this year or next. <br /> <br />Work has begun on the proposed scope of work for the Map Modernization web site with <br />will host information regarding the in progress projects throughout the state. Once a <br />countywide project is complete the data will be linked to the Flood DSS web site which is <br />in development as well. <br /> <br />F 06 Counties: Archuleta County, Weld County, and LaPlata County detailed study <br />work continues to progress. Some problems have been encountered in the remapping of <br />the Zone A floodplains in Teller and Archuleta Counties, FEMA has been contacted to <br />discuss the appropriate approach is taken to digitize these Zone A floodplains. <br />Finalization of the Fremont County and Clear Creek County detailed studies continue to <br />begin integration into the DFIRM as a Physical Map Revisions (PMR). The Pueblo <br />County Arkansas River Levee floodplain study has begun, but can not be completed until <br />Pueblo County finalizes two detailed studies that are needed to complete the Arkansas <br />River analysis. From the Arkansas River analysis it can be determined which sections of <br />the Arkansas River levee need to be recertified. <br /> <br />FY05 Counties: Most of the Mesa, Fremont, Clear Creek and Garfield Counties detailed <br />studies have been submitted to Michael Baker Jr., Inc. (FEMA's NSP) for a QA/QC <br />review. Once the review and QC resolution period is complete for these studies the <br />studies will be integrated into the maps to be released for preliminary review. The <br />Montezuma County DFIRM went preliminary in early July, the community comment <br />meeting was held at the end of August and the 90 public review period will begin in <br />September. <br /> <br />FY04/03 Counties: Larimer County went effective December 2006, work continues <br />toward finalizing the DFIRM database for the maps. Boulder County base map work has <br />been completed and accepted by FEMA. The effective date has been delayed by FEMA <br />due to existing levees which are shown as providing protection within the City of <br />Boulder. FEMA's NSP, Michael Baker Jr., is working through these issues with the City <br />of Boulder. <br /> <br />Arapahoe County (also within the Urban Drainage District) will be entering the appeal <br />period soon. The Fremont County DFIRM (being completed by Michael Baker Jr., <br />FEMA's contractor) will go effective September 19,2007. <br /> <br />JOINT FRONT RANGE CLIMATE CHANGE VULNERABILITY STUDY BEING <br />CONTEMPLATED: Recently a group of Front Range water providers including Denver Water, <br />Colorado Springs Utilities, City of Boulder, Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District, and <br />Flood Protection. Water Project Planning and Finance. Sn-eam and Lake Protection <br />Water Supply Protection. Conservation Planning <br />
