<br />Il1ltIgation plans were completed between 2004 and 2006, glVll1g the state more <br />information for the state document update. A worksheet was developed and used by CDEM <br />to review each local mitigation plan and can be found in Appendix B of the umbrella <br />document. <br /> <br />Residents and interested parties could access the DEM web site to review the draft plan and <br />provide comments through email. <br /> <br />In summary, preparation of the Flood Plan involved the following steps: <br /> <br />. Collection and review of the previous plan (NHMP 2004) including all <br />appendices and annexes, with special attention focused on documents <br />peIiinent to the development of the Flood Plan. Documents that guided <br />the development of the Flood Plan included: (a) Multi-Hazard Mitigation <br />Planning Guidance, Part I-Standard State Mitigation Plans (FEMA, <br />November 2006); and (b) Standard State Hazard Mitigation Plan Review <br />Crosswalk (FEMA, November 2006). The data collection effort involved <br />information obtained from all levels of government (municipal, county, <br />state, federal). In particular, local and regional pre-disaster mitigation <br />plans were collected and reviewed along with updated planning <br />information provided by the local and county governments. <br /> <br />. Comments from the FEMA review of the NHMP 2004 document were <br />reviewed and scrutinized. Areas that were identified as being deficient <br />were noted along with the specific information that would be necessary to <br />address the comment. <br /> <br />. Based on the review of the eXIstll1g plans, guidance documents, and <br />review comments provided by FEMA, new requirements necessary for <br />inclusion in the NHMP were identified, deficiencies in the NHMP 2004 <br />document noted, and data needs/gaps earmarked. <br /> <br />. Coordination was conducted with several local, state and federal agencies <br />along with representatives of the SHMT to collect data and information <br />pertinent to the update of the NHMP. <br /> <br />. All pertinent data and information collected as part of the planning <br />process was integrated to update the NHMP.
