<br />Western States Water Council <br />Water Quality Committee <br /> <br />Washington, DC <br />March 13, 2007 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Interim Director is in place, and they are searching for a replacement for Karl. <br /> <br />Arizona <br /> <br />Another 9th Circuit bomb yesterday: City ofFlagstaffworked with Snowbowl to use reclaimed <br />water for snow making. This is on San Francisco Peaks, which is a holy site for Navajo. Tribes sued <br />the City. Court ruled yesterday that this was contaminated water that thus prohibited the religious use. <br />The reclaimed water is the point of the case. <br /> <br />WATER OUALITY STANDARDS MANAGERS ASSOCIATION <br /> <br />Walt gave a preview for the upcoming meeting to be held the rest of the week. He then <br />applauded the effort to get EPA and States together in a smaller setting to discuss common issues. He <br />thinks it is useful. He will continue to be a conduit to provide info back to the western states on what <br />is discussed - will provide documents to Shaun to distribute. <br /> <br />OCTOBER SUSTAINABLE WATER SUMMIT <br /> <br />Joan gave an update on the summit planning to be held in Salt Lake in October. She told the . <br />Committee that we will want their participation in the Summit, and also that they help get the word out. <br /> <br />Need to get the agenda out for the Irvine workshop on Climate Change. <br /> <br />There being no further matters, the Water Quality Committee was adjourned. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />8 <br />
