Our wonderful city captures the spirit of Texas. Now
the eighth largest city in the United States, San Antonio has retained its sense of
history and tradition, while carefully blending in cosmopolitan progress. The city
has always been a crossroads and a meeting place. Sounds and flavors of
Native Americans, Old Mexico, Germans, the Wild West, African-Americans and
the Deep South mingle and merge. I invite you to bask in the flavors and culture
of this great American city.

In San Antonio and the surrounding region, we are keenly aware of the impact of
water on every aspect of daily life. We believe in forward thinking, proactive
planning and thoughtful implementation of water management strategies to
strengthen the region's viability and robustness. San Antonians can proudly
claim to be leaders in water conservation and public awareness. I trust that you
will enjoy the WSWC field trip which will provide you with some insight into our
strong commitment to appropriately manage our limited water resources for the
present and the future.

Enjoy your stay in our fair city. Viva San Antonio!

Sincerely,

Phil Hardberge
Mayor
