Wheeler and AssociateS, Inc, 3700 South Inca Street Englewood, Colorado 80110 When replying, please refer to: JACKSON LAKE DAM Construction File Number: C-ISI3 Water Division I, DAMID: 010227 SUBJECT: Approval of Plans and Specifications for Construction Dear Mr, Ferentchak: Thank you for submitting for review and approval the plans and specifications for construction of the proposed upstream slope protection repair at Jackson Lake Dam. We have completed our review of the documents and have found them to be acceptable for construction. We are transmitting one copy of the construction specifications and under a separate cover, one mylar cover sheet of the construction drawings with approval signatures for the construction of this proposed project. Our acceptance and approval of these documents are effective as of the date of this letter. The construction plans require the following minor modifications: . Sheets 2 and 3, Plan View ofthe darn: Please add the locations and horizontal and vertical coordinates of permanent survey benchmarks to be set in the field for construction control. The coordinates should be surveyed to the nearest 0.01 fool. These sheets should also show the locations and elevations (to the nearest 0.0 I foot) of the settlement monuments to be installed on the dam crest. · Sheet 7, Darn Crest Fill Section (2) has an incorrect reference to Table 5 on Sheet 9. Table 5 is actually on Sheet 11. These changes can be accomplished on the As-Constructed Drawings and with appropriate addenda to the Bid Documents. There is no need to re-submit the construction plans and specifications at this time. The construction of this project must be performed under the purview of a professional engineer registered in the State nfColorado. Your attention is directed to Rule 9.A. (copy enclosed) of the Rules and Regulations concerning construction observations, coordination and documentation activities required for this Intermediate size, Class I dam. Please keep Mr. Garrett Jackson of our Pueblo office at (719) 542-3368, extension 118, informed of the construction status so he may also meet his obligations under Rule 9.A.
