R.T) has determined that the single, most critical <br />water issue confronting the Rio Grande Basin is the current unsustainable management of <br />surface and gr ound water . The R.G. R .T. has made the decision that water activities that <br />address this issue be favorably considered for funding from the Water Supply Reserve <br />Account, SB 2005 - 179 , providing the proposed water activities meet the SWSI findings for <br />the Ba sin and the CWCB & IBCC Criteria and Guidelines for funding. <br /> <br />The R.G.R.T. is requesting authorization and consideration for distribution of Funds <br />pursuant to SB 2005 - 179, for discretionary Basin Funds in the amount of $ 83,700.00 . <br /> <br />At the regular R.G. R .T meeting on June 12, 2007 , the membership voted unanimously to <br />request funding from SB 2005 - 179 - Basin Funds, for the Romero - Guadalupe Channel <br />Rectification Project . <br /> <br />P A R S <br />ROJECT AND MOUNT EQUESTED OURCE <br />SB 179 <br /> <br />B <br /> <br />Romero - Guadalupe Channel Rectification P roject <br />ASIN <br />$ 83,700.00 <br /> <br /> <br />The funds will be used by two (2 ) of the oldest irrigation ditch companies , the Romero <br />Ditch Company and t he Guadalupe Main Ditch Company, t o cover the costs of addressing <br />multiple consumptive and non - consumptive need of the ditch companies and the Conejos <br />River , while also reducing the potential future flooding of the community of Guadalupe , <br />Colorado . These goals will be accomplished by reshaping and improving the condition of <br />the channel of the Conejos River through strategic stabilization and restoration, by the <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
