A new approach to resource management is occurring in the Mancos Valley, of which the

proposed project is a part. After decades of land management efforts taking pla ce in the

watershed without any whole - management coordination, the Mancos Conservation District

(MCD) recently initiated the Mancos Watershed Project. Recognizing that all of our resources
are intertwined and affect everyone who lives in the valley, this l ong - term project has as a

central mission the coordination of natural resource conservation management efforts between

the many responsible agencies and landowners. Everyone in the watershed has a vested interest
in the health and sustainability of the loc al resources. As partners in stewarding our water, the

Mancos Water Conservancy District, the MCD, the Bureau of Reclamation and other

stakeholders will collaborate on the long - term decisions that will affect our future. The

proposed feasibility study wi ll help answer a lot of questions (and no doubt raise new ones!) as
we make decisions in preparation for meeting the demands of a growing population. For more
