Water Supply Reserve Account – Grant Application Form <br />Form Revised October 2006 <br />_______________________________________ <br /> <br /> <br />Water Availability and Sustainability – this information is needed to assess the viability and effectiveness of the <br />7. <br />water project or activity. Please provide a description of each water supply source to be utilized for, or the water <br /> <br />body to be a ffected by, the water activity. For water supply sources being utilized, describe its location, yield, <br /> <br />extent of development, and water right status. For water bodies being affected, describe its location, extent of <br />development, and the expected effect o f the water activity on the water body, in either case, the analysis should <br /> <br />take into consideration a reasonable range of hydrologic variation. Attach additional sheets as needed. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />nd <br />The Mancos Water Conservancy District has filed on a 2 filling fo r Jackson Gulch Reservoir in an <br /> <br />amount of 2,000 a - f to be diverted from the Mancos River, of which the Division 7 Water Court <br /> has made absolute 1,385 a - f with the remaining 615 a - f being conditional in a decree dated <br />December 31, 1991. The full 2,000 a - f w as stored in the fall of 2006. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Water for the Lake Mancos Dam in the borrow area will be diverted from the Mancos River and <br />transported to the new reservoir through the existing inlet canal and the Crystal Creek Ditch. <br /> <br />Outlet of this new dam will drain d irectly into Jackson Gulch reservoir. The second filling right will <br /> <br />be expanded to include storage in the new reservoir. <br /> <br /> <br />The Mancos River watershed is believed to be capable of yielding the additional 2,000 a - f of water <br /> <br />to be stored in most years. The c ost effectiveness of the Expansion Project will be determined <br /> <br />once the feasibility studies are completed. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />8. <br />If you have not specifically and fully addressed the Evaluation Criteria found in Part 3 of the criteria and <br /> <br />guidance document pl ease provide additional detail here.
