Water Supply Reserve Account – Grant Appli cation Form
Form Revised July 2006
_______________________________________

Water Availability and Sustainability – this information is needed to assess the viability and effectiveness
7.
of the water project or activity. Please provide a description of each water supply source to be utilized for

the w ater activity. Each source should be described in terms of location, yield, extent of development,

and water right status (the analysis should take into consideration a reasonable range of hydrologic
variation).

This is a repair/upgrade of existing structures and the

last step to fully implement the goals of the pipeline

project. There are no Water Availability and
Sustainability issues externally – the reservoir and

water usage levels have been established for 60 plus

years. No water rights issues exist and no changes in
water rights are involved.

However, there ARE Availability and Sustainability issues

“internally” – that is regarding the operation of the
dam. For one, while we don’t have hard numbers, it is

(continued)

8.
If you have not specifically and fully addressed the Prioritization Criteria found in Part 3 of the Criteria

and Guidance Document please provide additional detail here. Attach additional sheet(s) if needed.

This is a one - time addition to an existing pr oject that can

be implemented in a ma tt er of weeks (probably right after

the ’07 irrigation season), using standard engineering /
construction. We will be using the expertise of an

engineering firm that has been instrumental in other
installations in the Mancos Valley and elsewhere.

Members funded the 1970’s rebuild (with loan help) and the

current project was partially grant funded (2/3 grant

funded (NRCS) for the current project) with the balance
(See attached – continued) .

7
