conditional and increased demands on water rights can be made. URS will also evaluate the
potential for changing the “call” on the Colorad o or the White Rivers.
Task 2.2 Deliverable - Table summarizing the output from the DSS models, including a
summary of the conditional and increased demands on water rights and any potential for
changing the “call” in the Yampa/White and Colorado River Bas ins.
Task 2.3 – Analysis of Increased Water Demand
After an understanding of the water needs under different scenarios have been developed , a
preliminary conceptual level assessment of various alternatives and combination of
alternatives will be consider ed to meet the water demand. This assessment will include
information on source and location of water supply including: existing water rights that are
currently being leased or used; quantification, estimates of produced water and source;
source and locat ion of existing and new supplies; supply options including both surface and
ground water ; assessments of impacts to state wildlife resources both terrestrial and aquatic
(specifically endangered species); identification of impacts to other natural resource s (i.e., air
quality, etc.), which may affect basin values and future needs.
While it is possible that these new demands on the basins will change the “call” regimes in
the basin no modeling is anticipated for this conceptual level assessment, but we will discuss
conceptually how the “call” regime might change. The location of the potential projects will
be documented in the GIS database.
Task 2.3 Deliverable – Results of conceptual level assessment of alternatives to meet
projected water demands (from T ask 2.2). These results will be presented in a GIS
layer/database.
Report/Project Management/Meetings
There are several common tasks necessary throughout the implementation of this project,
specifically pertaining to the overall reporting, documentation , communication,
correspondence and project management.
Final Report
The project report will outline all key aspects as discussed and produce a detailed outline of
the study with figures and tables. The document will also include the assumptions, analysis
and conclusions. Maps will be included showing the projected areas of water demand and
population increases. The location for possible alternatives will be shown on the maps.
The report will include text explaining the reports reviewed, agencies interv iewed and
assumption made during the analysis. The report will also include GIS layers demonstrating
the location of the water demand.
- 11 -
