<br />The proposed scope of work for a Map Modernization website has been <br />approved and design of the website has begun. <br /> <br />FY 06 Counties: Archuleta County, Weld County, and LaPlata County <br />detailed study work continues to progress. Some problems have been <br />encountered in the remapping of the Zone A floodplains in Teller and <br />Archuleta Counties, FEMA has been contacted to discuss the appropriate <br />approach is taken to digitize these Zone A floodplains. Finalization of the <br />Fremont County and Clear Creek County detailed studies continue to <br />begin integration into the DFIRM as a Physical Map Revisions (PMR). The <br />Pueblo County Arkansas River Levee floodplain study has begun, but can <br />not be completed until Pueblo County finalizes two detailed studies that <br />are needed to complete the Arkansas River analysis. From the Arkansas <br />River analysis it can be determined which sections of the Arkansas River <br />levee need to be recertified. <br /> <br />FY 05 Counties: Most of the Mesa, Fremont, Clear Creek and Garfield <br />Counties detailed studies have been submitted to Michael Baker Jr., Inc. <br />(FEMA/s NSP) for a QA/QC review. Once the review and QC resolution <br />period is complete for these studies the studies will be integrated into the <br />maps to be released for preliminary review. The Montezuma County <br />DFIRM will be submitted soon to the communities for preliminary review. <br /> <br />FY 04/03 Counties: Larimer County went effective December 2006, work <br />continues toward finalizing the DFIRM database for the maps. Boulder <br />County base map work has been completed and accepted by FEMA. The <br />effective date has been delayed by FEMA due to existing levees which are <br />shown as providing protection within the City of Boulder. FEMA's NSP, <br />Michael Baker Jr., is working through these issues with the City of <br />Boulder. Arapahoe County (also within the Urban Drainage District) will <br />be entering the appeal period soon. The Fremont County DFIRM will go <br />effective September 19, 2007. <br /> <br />Tamarisk Control Update: The Board will be funding $70,000 in planning <br />assistance to watershed groups in FY07-08 in conjunction with the Tamarisk Coalition. <br />We completed the Coalition's to map and inventory project on June 30, 2007 which <br />involves developing digital files for use in GIS systems and more convenient <br /> <br />20 <br />
