This includes costs requii-ed for staff support, <br />R~lamation staff and AMWG members. and expenses incurred in the recording and <br />reproduction ofmecting minutes, reports, notices, etc. <br /> <br />, Desm:ption of Duties: The duties or roles and functions of the AM\VG as in ao advisory <br />capacity only. They are to: <br /> <br />a. Establish AMWG operating procedures. <br /> <br /> b. <br />i <br />J <br />--I ,c. <br />I d. <br /> <br />Advise the Secretary in meeting environmental and cultural commitments ofme Record <br />of Decisioo. <br /> <br />j <br />I <br /> <br />Recommend the fram~ fcrthe AMP policy, goals., an~ direction. <br /> <br />Define aJ1d .recommend resource manasement obj!=Ctives for development aJid <br />implemcnt2tioD of a long-temt monitoring plan, and any necessary reSearch and studies . <br />required to determine the effect of tile operation. of Glen Canyon Dam on'the values for <br />which the Grand Canyon N~onal Parle: and Glen Canyon National ReaeatiOD Area were <br />estabJished, including but not limited 10 natural and cultural resources, and visitor use. <br /> <br />e. Review and provide input on the report required in Section 1804 (c)(2) ufthe Act to the <br />Secretary, the Congress. and the Governors of tile Colorado River Basin States. The <br />report will include discussion of dam operations. the operation of the AMP, status of <br />resourees, aDd measures taken to protect, mitigate, and improve the resources defined in <br />the Act_ <br /> <br />I!if;. <br /> <br />f. Annually review long-term monitoring data to determine the status of resources and <br />whether the AMP Strategic Plan goals and objectives are being met. If necessary. <br />d=velop recommendations for modifying the GCDES ROD, associated operating <br />criteria, and other resource management actions pursuant to the Grand Canyon Protection <br />Act. <br /> <br />g. Facilitate inpot and coordination of information from stakeholders to the Secretary to <br />assist in meeting consultation requirements under Section 1804 (e)(3) and 1805 (c) of the <br />Act. - <br /> <br />h. Monitor and report on compliance of all program activities with applicable laws. <br />permitting requirements, and the Act. . <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />. Allowances for Committee Members (compensation, travel, per diem. etc.) While engaged in <br />the performance of official business at AMWG and AMWG sub-group meetings (regular, ad <br />hoc, and Protocol Evaluation Panel meetings) away from home or their regular places of <br /> <br />2 <br />
