TASK 3
RESERVOIR. SITE IDENTIFICATION AND PRBLIMINAR.Y SCREENING

The general objective of Task 3 is to identify alternative water development sites in suffident
detail to pennit preliminary screening of these sites. This work will be accomplished by
identifying the potential reservoir sites in the basin, making preUminary estimates of physical
suppUes at each site, perfonning a fatal flaw analysis of the sites and evaluating the efficacy of
each site in meeting projected water and recreation needs of the study area. The final step in
this task will be preparation of screening recommendations for consideration by the TSC.
Final selection of up to six candidate sites will be made by the TSC.

Up to six candidate sites will be selected for further evaluation in Task 5. In addition,
Elkhead Reservoir and Ralph White Reservoir will be evaluated as candidate sites. A
contingency will be reserved for fatal flaw evaluation of two additional sites at the beginning
of Task 5. Additional potential sites must be identified by April 1, 1991.

Task 3 will be divided into three sub-tasks:

Sub-task 3a: Identify Potential Sites
Sub-task 3b: Characterize Potential Sites
Sub-task 3c: Select Candidate Sites
