A technical memorandum descnbing the physical and operational aspects of the
recommended plan will be prepared for use by the project team and TSC mem-
bers.

TASK 6.B--HYDROELECTRIC POTENTIAL

Purpose

This task will identify the potential for developing hydroelectric power in conjunction
with other plan elements in the recommended plan.

. Responsibility

CH2M HILL will be responsible for this task.

Approach

The study team will undertake the following activities:

1. Evaluate the hydroelectric potential from the recommended plan elements of
reservoir releases to meet other identified water needs. It will be assumed that
water releases for power production would be subordinated to other identified
water deliveries.

2. Contact regional power companies to establish the market potential for power
generation.

..3. ..~iC-1:li~t:ll@c~~aF&ntfinancialattractiveness. ofacd-mg. hydroelectric production
to the recommended plan.

Products

1. A recommendation will be made on whether it appears that hydroelectric power
production should be an added project benefit based on this initial evaluation.
Power production would be incorporated if it passes initial feasibility tests.

29

DENI800P/033.51
