Members worked on the development of the IBCC
website which they want to have up and running by May . It will not be the only education tool
developed by the Work Group, but will be the first and most important.

The IBCC approved a request from the Wor k Group for funding to help Basin Roundtables’ to
develop their documents and get them to the Work Group for dissemination in a timely manner .
In the short term, Eric Hecox and Viola Bralish will continue to disseminate the roundtable
document and post th em to the website .

Reagan Wasco m will work with M ary Lou Smith to decide what the website will look like. The
nd
Work Group may have information on this by the February 2 meeting.

Reagan will fund a graduate student to work on the water educators worksh eet so the IBCC will
have good idea of what others are doing on water education in the state. This can be a resource
for the work group, roundtables, and the general public and can be put on the website.

C opies of water almanac will be available to all I BCC members.

?
IBCC approved a request by the Work Group to ask the DNR for funding to pay for a
coordinator to manage the website and be a contact person. The IBCC approved the
request.

Eric Hecox will work with Steve and decide how funding will be hand led to ensure the website
is properly designed and maintained . Design and ongoing maintenance are two separate funding
needs, with the latter often the biggest expense.

Public Comment

Don Schw indt (CWCB Board Member) – Although there is a well founded d esire for this to be a
grassroots process, there is a need to overall coordination and communication. IBCC members
need to communicate with R oundtables so that they know what IBCC is doing, and vice versa.
Is there a better way to communicate both ways ? Comm unication cannot come only from the
grassroots up. He encouraged the IBCC to take a larger role in coordinating the roundtables.

Future Meetings

IBCC members want to continue to have meetings monthly , and of no more than a day in
duration. Meetings will be held in Denver as long as the legislature is in session . M eetings will
be conducted in basins in conjunction with Roundtable meetings once the legislative session
ends.

6
