2-28 House Committee amended to appropriations-1

Madame Chair: Representative McFadyen

Rep. McFadyell: Thank you Madame Chair. This is the one. This is the amendment
I'd like to move to - and I'm going off of the big set of
amendments on Page 10, Line 9, to amend L0012 at the end of that
sentence - continue Line 9 to say, "and no more than three shall be
affiliated with the same political party." And those would be
listening to the points made by the bill sponsor and the Committee.
This would only be for the Governor's appointments on this
amendment only.

Madame Chair: Representative McFadyen does your amendment have a number or
is it drafted or are you doing this ?

Rep. McFadyell: Oh, I'm sorry. Madame Chair that would be conceptual
amendment that I've discussed with the sponsor of the bill. I'm
hoping for his affirmation, and I'm digging through for paper but
I'm not gonna find one.

Madame Chair: So, this is conceptual. We're on 012 right now and the conceptual
amendment is to add language on Line 9, right?

Rep. McFac{ven: Correct

Madame Chair: I thought we had this

Rep. McFadyell: We don't have that amendment.

Madame Chair: So Representative McFadyen, this is an amendment to the
amendment?

Rep. McFadyell: Madame Chair

Madame Chair: Representative McFadyen

Rep. McFadyell: Thank you Madame Chair. I'm looking at LO 12 on the single
sheet. It looks like the appropriate way for me to amend it is on
Line 12 before the period, and comma, after the period add no
more than three of the Governor's appointees shall be affiliated
with the same political party, and I'd be happy to give this to staff
so they can read back the amendment correctly, and I might add it
was drawn up by Mr. Morris.

Madame Chair: You've moved that, right?

Rep. McFadyell: I so move, Madame Chair, the amendment to the amendment 12.

www.escriptionist.com Page 10 of 19
