3-24 House Second Reading

Mr. Chairmall:

Rep. PelllY

Mr. Chairmall:

Rep. PelllY

Mr. Chairmall:

Rep. PelllY

Mr. Chairmall:

Rep. PelllY

Third, we added a provision regarding the statewide Interbasin
Compact Committee, which will be the venue for these new
negotiations. That they would establish their own chalier and tell
the General Assembly sometime next year what authorities they
need to give these agreements life and form.

And fourth and finally, we added a couple of additional members
to the statewide Interbasin Compact Committee again where these
negotiations will occur to ensure a broader representation of the
stakeholders involved in this process. Mr. Chairman, with that I
don't think there's any additional conversation. Well, actually, let's
see, and then I have an amendment to the Committee Report, if
there is additional conversation.

Is there any fi.lrther discussion to the Agricultural Committee
Report? Seeing none - Representative Wiseman.

Wait, wait, wait, I've got an amendment too.

Oh, you have an amendment.

Yeah

Representative Penry

Thank you Mr. Chairman. I would move L020 to the Ag
Committee Report.

. Representative Penry

Thank you Mr. Chairman. Many of the notions in this amendment
are technical in nature. Some of 'em are very important. Now let
me go through the ones that are less technical and more
substantive.

The first one was in the local basin roundtables, which will
represent local basins in these negotiations; originally, there were
two representatives from county government. And speaking with
some of the stakeholders, the counties and the municipalities, we
agreed to take one of the representatives from the county
government and include municipalities. So now, you'll have one
representative from all of the affected counties within a basin
roundtable and one municipal representative, so that both the
county and municipal governments are represented.

www.escriptionist.com
