4-14 Senate Committee
Interviewer, Interviewee

Chairman:

Chris Treese:

Then comes representative George and his hard work to put House
Bill 1177 before us and develop the mechanism by which the
willing buyer, willing seller the affective members of the
communities all have an oppOliunity to decide how water is a
portion through out the state. It is the waters of the state of
Colorado, but we have managed to through the years to make it
very difficult, much more than in other communities.

So here representing the city of Aurora today, I ask you for your
support of this, I thank the other people who have worked so hard
to put this together, and along with director George, I would also
like to say that the opportunity for the Colorado basin state years
ago to put together what they have considered to be at this time,
successful in the appropriation of water for the basin.

And we here in Colorado have so many more fingers in the pie to
determine how we will allocate water. So the city of Aurora is in
su pport of this bill and also asks that you as a committee with your
knowledge of what we must do for the state in the future can be in
suppOli and help us see how this will work for us in the fi.lture,
thank you.

Thank you Margy, any questions for Ms. Christiansen? See none,
thank you very much. Chris Treese. Chris, welcome to the Center
of Ag Committee, welcome back please state your name for the
record, who you represent and proceed.

Thank you, Mr. Chairman. My name is Chris Treese, I represent
the Colorado River Conservation District. I want to thank Senator
Isgar and the many other principals involved in drafting and
amending 1177 to bring it to the point where you have it before
you or will soon before you for consideration.

We are in suppOli of House Bill 1177 we appreciate speaker
George's generous description of the inclusive process and claim
responsibility for a large measure of the amendments on L. 025.

With appreciation for all those who are involved in that and help
craft it and make the our suggestions better, I think it does add
significantly to the bill and address problems that, or prevent
problems that could have come up and address concern.

To highlight three of those, each of which has been the subject of a
question by either Senator Hillman or Senator Entz. The question
of agent, is particularly important and it is a concern. This came
from the Ag. interest on the western slope who were concerned

www.escriptionist.com
