Good afternoon and welcome to the Ag <br /> <br />Committee, Director George. <br /> <br />Director Russell George: Hi, Madame Chair and Members of <br /> <br />the Committee. <br /> <br />Russell George, Executive Director, Colorado Department of <br /> <br />Natural Resources. <br /> <br />As the sponsor indicated, this lS really the next step of <br /> <br />this now appearing to be historical effort that you helped us <br /> <br />put in motion at about this time last year, commonly known as <br /> <br />House Bill 1177, but correctly the Interbasin Compact Process. <br /> <br />As we followed House Bill 1177 through the summer and fall, <br /> <br />we traveled all across the state, meeting with the citizens in <br /> <br />all of the basins to set up their roundtables. And an important <br /> <br />part of the conversation at each of those meetings was, "What <br /> <br />- 5 - <br />
