Representative Gardner:

Thank you, Madame Chairman.

Representative Penry, on page 3 of the bill, lines 21 and

22, it talks about structural and non-structural water projects

or activities. Could you just glve me an example a water

project or activity that might be covered under this bill?

Chairperson Curry: Representative Penry?

Representative Penry:

The projects themselves will be

determined or approved by the local roundtable.

The terms

structural and non-structural were actually part of the 1177

bill.

And the notion was that meeting our water needs won't just

be new reservolrs or new diversions.

There will be greater

efficiencies, or sort of the conservation side of it. And so,

the term non-structural is meant to sort of focus on, I guess,

the non sort of bricks and mortar approach to storage that you

might historically associate.

Representative Penry: Representative Hoppe?

Representative Hoppe: Thank you, Madame Chair.

Representative Garner, are you looking at the--reading this

verSlon, or were you looking at the original version

[unintelligible]--?

Representative Gardner:

--No, I [unintelligible]--.

Representative Hoppe: --Different language.

Representative Penry: Yeah.

- 4 -
