Multiple meetings with the USBR to discuss the ALP mitigation area in the La Plata River <br />Basin. <br /> <br />2. Presentations of the LHR project at public meetings of the LPWCD Board, the New Mexico <br />La Plata Conservancy District Board, and the ALPD Board. Interviews with two local <br />newspapers, which resulted in published articles. <br /> <br />3. A public notice for the LHR project published in both the Durango (Colorado) Herald and <br />Farmington (New Mexico) Times. <br /> <br />4. Meetings with CDOW pertaining to the potential LHR impacts to the lower La Plata River <br />fishery. <br /> <br />5. An LHR project notice was sent to the seven landowners within or adjacent to the LHR <br />project area. <br /> <br />8.4 Rights-of-Way <br /> <br />LHR will not divert water directly from the La Plata River. Inflows to LHR will consist of Long <br />Hollow flows, derived primarily from precipitation and groundwater return flows from irrigation <br />and other inflows within the watershed. No easements for inflow ditches or pipelines ar~e-a <br />~ticipated to be needed. <br /> <br />Property acquisition from four landowners would be required to proceed with a 5,432-AF <br />reservoir that would inundate 160 acres. Three of these owners are members of the Bob Taylor <br />family. Mr. Taylor is a member of the LPWCD Board who has expressed great interest and <br />support for the LHR project. Who is the 4th owner and what is his\her level of support? <br /> <br />8.5 Permitting Could be covered in Institutional section <br /> <br />A CW A Section 404 Individual Permit application was prepared and submitted to the USACE. <br />Section 7 Consultation with the Service has begun. These efforts are ongoing and have been <br />funded with money other than the CWCB grant funds.
