For information on the fund, go to
www.cowaterfund.org.

The Colorado Watershed Assembly initiated
legislature that created the Colorado Watershed
Protection Fund. It raises money to fund
qualified applicants who work toward restoring
and protecting Colorado lands and natural
resources. To find out more about the assembly,
visit www.coloradowater.org.

PEARL STREET CONDOMINIUMS

The initial lawsuit involving construction claims
made by the Pearl Street Condominiums
Homeowners' Association has been settled.

However, WWE's client is seeking relief from
many subcontractors involved. Ken Wright will
be deposed in February on behalf of the
developer/builder.

FORT COLLINS LECTURE

Dave Foss was happy to describe our Machu
Picchu successes on January 20 in Fort Collins.
Dave spoke to members of the American
Society of Mechanical Engineers, who were
especially interested in WWE's engineering
research over the past 11 years.

VAN GILDER INSURANCE

Bob Strine of Van Gilder Insurance has actively
supported WWE during the last two months.
First, Bob provided an excellent continuing
education class for our technical staff on
reviewing and revising contract clauses. He
emphasized identifying language in contracts
between an engineer and owner that could
potentially leave both parties without the
protection of our professional liability insurance.

Later Bob helped us resolve an ambiguous
provision in a construction contract. A bidder
on a large project designed by our firm
identified the ambiguity, which related to the
necessity to carry Builder's All-Risk insurance.
Bob's prompt assistance during the holidays
helped us clarify the contract between owner
and contractor.

ADONEA STORMWATER MANAGEMENT

WWE is working for the Adonea Metropolitan
District to provide stormwater management
services during construction of the Adonea
project. The project site is between 6th Avenue
and Alameda, just west of Powhatan Road in
Aurora.

Rachel Pittinger and Jennifer Jones are updating
the Storm Water Management Plan for the site
and conducting site inspections, as required by
the Colorado Discharge Permitting System
permit for stormwater discharges associated
with construction activities. Rachel and
Jennifer enjoy working with Scott Hamann of
Independent District Engineering Services on
this project.

WWE/WEI
