Last fall we began working with Green Industries of Colorado (GreenCO) to improve landscape water
conservation. They requested funds to inventory, compile and standardize regional "best management
practices" (BMPs) for landscape water use, including design, installation and maintenance practices.

The goals of the project were:

· Inventory and prioritize existing BMPs by region.
· Address the range of practices for the design, installation and maintenance of landscapes by industry, and
address variations on a regional basis.
· Where needed, suggest additional or improved BMPs.
· Develop a BMP resource guide and central contact site; post results on CWCB web site.
· Synthesize findings to create a solid framework for industry-wide discussion and adoption ofBMPs as an
industry standard.

The project was undertaken using Severance Tax Operational Account funds designated for Conservation
and Drought Planning projects. The BMPs and other information will reside on our web site.

GreenCO is has nearly completed Phase I of its project. A representative will be at our meeting to give us a
status report about this initiative. A copy of their presentation materials are also attached.
