<br />Tom Iseman: Non-consumptive needs? This would be addressed through <br />the state wide basin; important that this be on the table because it will be <br />crucial that we continue to work on non-consumptive needs. <br />Wilkinson: No disagreement; wanted to show difference in basins. <br />Harold Evans: Consumable effluent reuse: this will increase gap; <br />while these four refinements being done, nothing to stop us from working <br />on wet water projects. <br />Frank Eckhardt: Contract with which consultants? <br />Hecox: DNR has a contract with CDM; thus with CDM and their team. <br />Eckhardt: thus, cap on price and scope of work, yes? <br />Jerke: And the time frame will be addressed such that the consultants <br />understand we do not need to spend 2 years to do these studies, yes? <br />Darling: 2 and 3 play into each other: reuse will indeed impact <br />administration; thus, these are particularly interwoven. <br />Jerke: The contractor must know that on the record, they must be diligent <br />and efficient. <br />V ote: Unanimous vote for the Motion. <br /> <br />II. On-going Water Supply Efforts in the South Platte Basin <br />1. Windy Gap Firming: NCWCD: Power Point and Handout <br />Jeff Baker: <br />Brings water from CO River West of Granby and pumps water into <br />Granby: <br />600CFS pump station pipeline; <br />--water delivered through Big Thompson; thus water can be delivered <br />CBT project (Northern District); need more storage; 14 participants that <br />use water and storage; all entities have identified need for 90,000 acft <br />more storage; EIS studies and process began in 2003, now at point of <br />releasing EIS for public review by summer; <br />NEP A alternatives: 4 storage sites: 1) chimney Hallow: west of carter <br />lake; preferred alternative; 2) Dry Creek, south of chimney hallow, not as <br />cost effective; 3) sites on west slope: Jasper East: near Willow Creek <br />Reservoir (fen challenge) and 4) southwest of Granby, Rockwell/Mueller <br />Creek. <br />Chimney Hallow Project Features: 950 acft surface area; 90,0000 af <br />storage capacity; dam: 350 ft rock fill dam; Larimer County Open Space; <br />W AP A power line reallocation required; this is also preferred because <br />close to existing delivery system. <br />Site has been purchased with Larimer County Open Space; will have <br />rights with surface water for irrigation <br /> <br />-- Environmental Issues: <br />1) Need for project (conservation); 2) Colorado River Flows; 3) Three <br />lakes water quality of CBT project: Lake Granby, Shadow Lake, Grand <br />Lake. <br /> <br />6 <br />
