Fred Walker: Talk of increasing funds for basin accounts: any concern
about the legislature appropriating what was part of the SB 179 bill?

Diane Hoppe: Has not seen that part of the bill but if that funding is
coming from the severance tax, could be concern..

Mike Shimmin: RE: sent email on this concern; Eric Hecox and Rick
Brown emailed back saying that because this was already approved by
legislature last year, this funding is "probably safe"; the big debate seems
to be as to what to do with the unallocated portion of the severance tax;
thus, at this point, most people seem to think that the SB 179 40 million is
safe.

Fred Walker: per the reservoir bill; please clarify:

Diane Hoppe: HB 1124: Representative Hodge beginning this bill; she
asked that this bill be PI;
Mike: no new initiative on this issue

CWCB Report: They are meeting today and reviewing the first round of
the basin applications.

Fred Walker: On the CWCB website, see pie diagram to see that the South
Platte has used a very small slice of our pie; interesting to see that there
are not more monies being spent.

II: Needs Assessment Task Orders

1) Sue Morea: Introduces Ross Bethel and William Warmack from Applegate:
who will be co presenting with Sue.

Sue distributes 2 handouts on responsibilities of basin roundtables, IBCC and the
CWCB; this is briefing to legislature
1) Inter-basin Compact Process

2) Needs Assessment Development and Project Management Assistance
Harold Evans had asked for a summary of the requests statewide for basin;
summary to see what others are doing (IBCC Accomplishments)

3) Preliminary, Draft Outline of Approach for South Platte Basin Roundtable
Refinements 1-4: Sue summarizes:
--Plan to approach Metro Roundtable for items 1-4
Have submitted a request for remainder of $400,000 ofSB 1400 between now
and July; in July, money available for July 07-July 08 $750,000 (divided by
9);

2
