-26,000 cubic yards of concrete
-5,500 tons of steel

Conclusion: Rueter-Hess Reservoir is available and much needed water
management tool for PWSD to meet present and future needs. Future water
supplies using the Rural/Urban Water Farm Model will be evaluated in the
CSU Study.

"The study will develop and investigate cropping system options-techniques
in crop production and irrigation-to determine how much water can be
saved. Cropping system options include: rotational cropping (fallowing a
portion of the land); deficit and partial season irrigation (applying less water,
but gaining maximum yield from the water applied); water conserving
practices and drought tolerant crop varieties; adoption of optimal irrigation
technology; and alternative farming practices, crops and markets.... The
cropping system strategies will be studied from the perspectives of farm
profitability and economic activity in the ag and mral communities, the
amount of water made available for other uses, and practical feasibility."

How to get water for Parker and not harm any parties involved:
Coops: water that could be leased to other farmers?
Coops could be put together so that ag community could maintain ownership
of the water; way to put it together with long term contracts.

Parker also went to Metro Roundtable with same request and received
unanimous approval for the $150,000 request; motivation behind double
request is to make sure that all parties understand Parker wants cooperation
from all involved. Keep in mind that total cost is $1 million.
South Metro has anted up with $45,000/per year.
Motivation again is to keep as many players in study as possible.
Important to keep focus on an alternative to "buy and dry."

Joe Frank: This is substantial in terms of Colorado water law as per what you
are propos mg.

Jaeger: Advisory Committee is being formed now and will welcome Ag
community to sit on this committee. Included in this committee, CSU is
contacting farmers, bankers, etc... May 29 for first advisory committee
meeting in Sterling. Would be wise to invite members of roundtables.

Jerke: Please provide us with a list of the members on the subcommittee.

Phillip Steininger: Please explain coop idea more.

4
