<br />Courney Brand: Senior engineer with CO Springs water supply department; <br />from P A moved to AZ for graduate school; works in public sector in utilities <br />fi-om 9 years as private consultant; economic value of water and political <br />boundaries and considerations such as efficiencies of water. President of <br />Board of Director in Douglas County so looks at thins from two different <br />perspectives <br />Les Williams: Longmont native; NWCD for 17 years; came from family <br />involved in water issues; water uses and changes affect; Les Williams was a <br />dentist in early years <br /> <br />Mary Lou: what was the process like; were you in agreement; common <br />sensibility; <br />--we were very much in agreement; <br />--generally came from same view point; environmental aspects; sustainable <br />supply for municipalities; <br /> <br />VII End of Meeting Notes <br />Bill Jerke: Process seems to have underscored that we have similar values; <br />Next meeting: address taking stands on areas: <br />1) IBCC criteria: SB 179; need a level of commonality of how we will <br />approach this fi-om a Roundtable; need a pragmatic and fair way to address <br />this; talking about expenditures for 06-07 starting on July 1; <br />2) Needs assessment and SWSI; Gap assessment; adapting SWSI in a way <br />that will allow us to move away into a commonality; <br />(Question: John Metli: do we need direction of how to approach? <br />(Eric Hecox: Take what has been done in SWSI and pull out of that <br />everything that is applicable to our basin; look at this, we can adopt or decide <br />we need updating; or decide we need more detail; then as SWSI Phase 2 <br />comes out on nonconsuptive side---this repOlt will give us a framework with <br />which we can work; <br />4 sections: Look at consumptive demands; nonconsumptive demands; <br />available water supplies; propose projects to meet those needs; <br />--we can then refine or do more investigation and funds will be available; <br />Bill Jerke/Harold Evans: helpful to go on SWSI website and pick and choose <br />sections; spend time looking at that ahead of time; then with this money we <br />could request consultant time; then request funds to have contractor look at <br />certain areas; <br />Access on Website <br /> <br />3) Ralph: Include presentation on SB 193 and idea of recharge and harvesting <br />in a way that Mike Shimmin would find acceptable @ <br />15 min presentation; also dealing with statute with calendar date <br /> <br />4) MaryLou's <br />
