Dinner break at 6 pm

III. Review of Summary from June Workshop: Marylou Smith
Marylou Smith hands out a compilation of the values that were discussed in
all of the small groups in our June workshops; values tended to fall in certain
categories: will find 3 ways our values fall out;
If as a roundtable we could use what we have ah-eady come up with, and look
at this as a group to hone in our values to come up with some statements that
we could agree upon as a group that could guide us in our future work; could
provide a unique approach for future work.

IV. Consideration of Roundtable Action: Bill Jerke
1. per 1177, celtain items that must be accomplished. As a roundtable,
we must adopt our roundtable goals/objectives.
Proposes that we adopt the 9 SWSI objectives as our roundtable
objectives; feedback requested: does it make sense that we embrace these
as our own?

Bill Brown: Heading strikes me: What's important to Coloradans in
Water Management? This would have come fi-om the SWSI team, not just
"man on the street," yes?

Rick Brown: Section 10 of the Report: Evaluation Framework
Page 10-7 explains

Bill Brown: "Comply with all applicable laws, regulations and water
rights": we should not be constrained to work only within these;

Bob Streeter: Objective vs. goal; these seem general; we might think of
these in very different manners;

Discussion ensues as per objectives vs. goals; needs to embrace more
general language.

Bill Jerke: Need to focus on language of 1177:

Russell George: "As soon as practicable following.. .each basin
roundtable shall establish bylaws, operating procedures, goals and
objectives to govern the actions and decisions of the roundtable."

Bill Brown: Per meeting in October, we adopted a mission statement and
there were some goals in place.

Harold Evans: only voted on mission statement; delayed goals;

6
