Northern Front Range: Webster Jones <br />(handout) <br />--Zeroed in on four of the findings pertaining to the projected gap of 18,400 acft; <br />--Criteria to help address problems: how to meet that gap: recognize SWSI <br />identifies 18,400 acft gap, suspicion is that it will be more; need to identify other <br />alternatives, if they exist, who the beneficiaries might be; <br />--Study conservation potential, and move beyond that level; what is needed is <br />something more permanent to eliminate the demand not just reduce demand; <br />--Pressure on ag will increase if we are unsuccessful in implementing projects; <br />--Quantify environmental and recreation demands; these demands have not been <br />quantified, not much funding for this; dedicate some of our funds for these issues; <br />-- How to augment wells to keep water pumping to farms dependent on decreed <br />aug plans; no one has a good hand on this yet. <br />--Potential to manage reusable water; some projects on Poudre in place; <br />--Infrastmcture for the Platte River Recovery Program which has $50mm; <br />--CO's endangered species: what water is available to go towards these <br />obligations? <br />--Solutions: The project that brought most attention in this group was the potential <br />increase of volume of Chatfield; this would help: well aug, municipal water, <br />winter aug, and dollars for environmental compliance; potential to enlarging <br />Chatfield; fed study; 20,600 acft proposed for Chatfield Reservoir; divided up: <br />10,300 acft would go to lower South Platte; and other would go to upper South <br />Platte; <br /> <br />Hecox: Where are all of you (Roundtable members) in this Chatfield process? <br />Where are you in moving forward? Are there gaps in ability to move it forward? <br />Maybe there is something we can do to move it fOlward. <br /> <br />Harold Evans: Looking to EIS to help pay for their share. <br /> <br />Lisa Darling from Aurora: Offers to have someone come to give overview. <br />Jerke: Yes, would be helpful. <br />Darling will coordinate with Eric. <br /> <br />Jones: Funding for EIS; finding out if there is any unappropriated water that <br />remains in the South Platte; how much will the reuse affect the South Platte; <br />seems as though there is not a good feel for what this might mean; <br /> <br />8 <br />
