Mike G — Re reservoir celebration, wrote a letter on behalf of RT for that project to get <br />HB1400 funds available for that — u nderstands that the funds will be made available <br />from HB1400 and CWCB small grant fund <br /> <br />Project Review — Mike G. <br />– r eminded that on the DNR/CWCB document covers the criteria for projects — <br />Discussed it with Rick Brown — needed real details in application all th e way down to <br />miles, per mile payment, etc. – suggested that applicants include all 4 criteria and spell <br />how the application addresses them — after these conversations, contacted some <br />people Travis, Cindy, Doug, Ray, Rio and held meeting to look at local grou p to help <br />applic ants draft their applications — joined by Sam Vance from Conejos re work on <br />Conejos Rive r and went over his application and discussed how to help them improve <br />and rework app to best fit guidelines and criteri a — hope to expedite process before it <br />goes to CWCB -- if we can make out applications be more complete and better, will <br />hopefully reduce # of questions and conditions <br /> <br />Ray - one of the things that came up at IBCC was the real lack of help from CWCB -- if <br />a small ditch co wants a loan, CWCB staff help put applications together — but not <br />adequate staff now to provide this for RT projects — at least for review and comment on <br />pending apps to help with different levels of skill <br /> <br />Jay – heard that Rick will be getting one FTE to help wit h this — didn’t take long to <br />realize that the threshold criteria need to be up front so anyone going through the <br />process need to pay attention to those point — hopes next iteration will be clear er <br /> <br />Mike G — put the word out that anyone considering an application will get help from <br />people in the sub - group - to predetermine if app meets criteria — not the idea of the group <br />to be gatekeepers but to help facilitate this process <br /> <br />E ducation — Judy Lopez <br />Judy — has been talking with state level folks re education model for R ound T able ’s — in <br />reviewing guidelines set forth by IBCC and re proposed Reservoir Celebration funding — <br />trying to define what is considered education — as Travis stated, there’s multiple levels — <br />water community, government, at large c ommunity, kids — trying to determine and <br />def ine level of education tha t IBCC is actually looking at <br /> <br />Mike G — may need to go back to CWCB and IBCC so that education projects can be <br />funded — As Russ George said earlier — need an educated population to sustain projects <br />and support funding — always thought tha t education is a key part of our RT and that we <br />go back and get $ for education here — <br /> <br />Judy — -- forming subgroup re this: Charlie, Diane - their education specialists and others <br />welcome to join <br /> <br />10.
