<br />Ray - been some consideration of ways to work around; discussion about whether <br />Citizens for SL V Water might find a new role in being a vehicle to receive grants <br />through; are 501 c4; may be changed to c3; working on ways to find acceptable groups <br />for the funds so can proceed. <br /> <br />Mike G - have two projects to consider for funding <br /> <br />Mel Getz - in light of education goals: presented about Celebration of Reservoirs for <br />summer 2007; explained application sent to group <br /> <br />Funding - have been successful in obtaining grant funding to date <br /> <br />Many events and aspects of the celebration; one item to be produced is a DVD to be <br />shown for the first time at the celebration and to be available for next five or more years <br />as an educational vehicle regarding water, water storage and importance of it; <br />production of this is part of this request - $6300. Traveling exhibit is already completely <br />funded through grants. <br /> <br />Website - part of this request; design and updating - $1600. <br /> <br />Symposium at ASC - "meat" of celebration; educational component; many great <br />speakers lined up to talk about past, present and future of surface and underground <br />reservoirs. Got a Colorado Humanities grant for $2565; need $5060. <br /> <br />Whole request to Roundtable: $13,000. <br /> <br />Think that this proposal meets all the requirements set forth in the legislation and that <br />the Celebration provides education as required. <br /> <br />Leon Moyers asked if any of the consultants are related to Mel Getz. <br /> <br />Mel - Yes, his daughter Lynn is a Professor of History and is the reason why they even <br />proposed the celebration. Due to a book she sent them regarding the 100-year <br />Celebration of Irrigation in 1952, they realized 2007 is the anniversary of the second <br />biggest water aspect is building of reservoirs. She is unpaid volunteer. <br /> <br />Leon - Project Schedule; conducted 4-hour flyover before project even began? <br /> <br />Mel - didn't invest any money just a lot of begging; wanted to fly over while there was a <br />good chance of water being in the reservoir.
