September 11, 2006

2. Water Needs
Tom Huerkamp told the group that his answer to all six questions were negative, due to a large lack
of information and data. Some other Roundtable members agreed and some were already trying to
fill in the gaps in the SWSI data. Randy See felt that without a needs assessment the GBRT may
miss an opportunity and suggested that the GBR T adopt the SWSI as a temporary or interim needs
assessment. Randy then made a motion to adopt the SWSI Report as a "provisional needs
assessment". Pete Kasper seconded the motion and discussion continued. Some members felt the
need to fill in the gaps in data even before a provisional needs assessment was formulated. It was
decided that a supermajority vote would be needed to adopt any needs assessment, and consequently
Randy See made a move to table the motion. Greg Clifton seconded the motion and carried
unanimously.

Dixie Luke suggested that the spreadsheet formulated by the Arkansas Valley Roundtable may be
used as a starting point. Thomas Brubaker volunteered to get the spreadsheet to Michelle Pierce.
Michelle Pierce announced she will forward the spreadsheet to everyone as soon as possible.

Ralph Grover suggested that the Roundtable needed to start working on the selection criteria. He
then volunteered to lead the effort.

3. Roundtable Membership
Michelle Pierce announced that Randy See was reassigned to the Montrose Municipalities seat, and
that his prior seat as Environmental Representative was now vacant. It was suggested that
advertising be done to get more interest opportunities. Greg Clifton made the motion that the
Roundtable advertise quickly, that the candidates speak at the next meeting, and that the vacancy be
filled according to the bylaws. The motion was seconded by Ken Spann and carried unanimously.
Michelle stated she would discuss advertising for the Roundtable member with Eric Hecox.

Next Meetinf!
The next meeting of the Gunnison Basin Roundtable will be October 2, 2006.

Adiourn
There being no further business to come before the Roundtable, the meeting adjourned at 6:45 pm.

~~--

Mike Berry, Recorder

4
