Individuals did not seem to think it was necessary to <br />separate out the water rights holders or hold separate votes for the last five seats. Jim <br />Hokit called the question. The motion failed. <br /> <br />Discussion followed about how the 2/3rds majority would work for the remaining five <br />seats. <br /> <br />John McClow moved that each member write down five names from all the remaining <br />candidates and those receiving 14 votes would be appointed. Michelle Pierce seconded. <br />The motion passed. <br /> <br />Bill Trampe asked for other applicants to add their names to the list. He then began <br />presentations by the applicants. <br /> <br />David Baumgarten stated that he owns water rights on the Cochetopa. He has provided <br />the roundtable with a resume of his life. He has been an attorney in Colorado since 1973 <br />and worked for Gunnison County for the last 16 years. <br /> <br />Ron Shaver stated he presented earlier under agriculture but owns water rights on Surface <br />Creek. <br /> <br />Marc Catlin stated he is the manager for UVWUA. The UVWUA is beneficiary of <br />Gunnison Tunnel, BOR project that diverts 1300 cfs out of the Gunnison. They also have <br />water rights in the Uncompaghre. He is currently the Vice-President of the Colorado <br />Water Congress. UVWUA has 35,000 accounts that range from 1 acre lots to 16,000 <br />acre farms and ranches. <br /> <br />Rooster Barnhart stated that the river needs a voice here. The Canyon and the <br />environment of this basin are tremendous resources. <br /> <br />Eric Jessen stated that he is involved with water and waste water within the basin. The <br />water resources of this basin are some of the most critical issues facing the state. He <br />believes that we need to do some real planning for the next 100 years. <br /> <br />Mike Alberg stated he is on the Board of UVWUA and involved with Farm Services. <br /> <br />Dixie Luke stated that she is from the Upper North Fork, an area not yet represented on <br />the roundtable. <br /> <br />Rorak Kiklevich stated that representing the water use of Mount Crested Butte will bring <br />a different perspective to the roundtable. <br /> <br />David Gann stated that the capacity of the Gunnison to serve all these different resources <br />needs thoughtfulness and he is willing to serve. <br /> <br />10 <br />
