The cost of preliminary engineering studies to date has totaled about $150,000. <br />Total project construction cost is therefore estimated to be $5,450,000. <br /> <br />The proposed system will be constructed by the City of Fort Collins and Larimer County as a <br />coordinated effort. The respective amounts to be contributed by the two governments, will be <br />based on the amount of incorporated versus unincorporated land in the floodplain of Dry Creek. <br />On this basis, the City of Fort Collins will be liable for 53% of the project cost, and Larimer <br />County will be liable for 47% of the total cost. On this basis, the amount to be paid by Larimer <br />County is $2,500,000, and the amount to be paid by the City of Fort Collins is $2,950,000. The <br />amount to be paid by Larimer County for the project as well as part of the amount to be paid by <br />the City of Fort Collins is intended to be paid by the proceeds of a loan from the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board in the amount of $3,900,000. <br /> <br />Table I below is a summary ofthe anticipated division of project elements to be constructed by <br />City and by County: <br /> <br />Table 1.
