'I
!

March 22, 2007

Mr. Rick Brown
Interstate Water Management Development Section
Colorado Water Conservation Board
1580 Logan Street, Suite 1600
Denver, Colorado 80203

Subject: Water Supply Reserve Account 2007 Grant Application for the Round Mountain
Water and Sanitation District Water System Improvement Project

Dear Rick:

Enclosed is a grant application from the Round Mountain Water and Sanitation District located in
Westcliffe in the Wet Mountain Valley. The grant application is for $120,000 to assist in making
structura1 improvements to overcome identified major shortcomings that demand immediate attention in
their water supply system, including their water supply. At the Arkansas Basin Roundtable (ABRT)
meeting on March 14, 2007, this grant application was approved with full consensus by our Roundtable.
This application was also reviewed by our Needs Assessment Committee and has received through both
the Committee process and our Roundtable, a thorough review and full discussion at a publicly noticed
meeting with a 75 percent quorum present. It was approved with the understanding that if approved by
CWCB, it would be funded out of our Basin account.

In closing, if I can be of any assistance to you and your staff or the Water Conservation Board in their
evaluation and consideration, please do not hesitate to contact me at: 719.584.0221 or
ahamel@pueblowa~er.org.

Sincerely,

~c.~

Alan C.
