II
"
.. ..:
I

and continue to work with the interested parties on proceeding as contemplated in the
MOU.

Southwest Hydrology Cloud Seeding Issue: The March/April 2007 issue features
articles about cloud seeding on pages 16-29 and is included in the board member
notebook providing a great overview of recent advancement and unanswered questions
around the topic. Articles included are: the basic types of seeding, a management and
feasibility perspective to Upper Colorado River Basin seeding, air pollution (inadvertent
weather modification) vs. intentional seeding (advertent weather modification), weather
modification law, results from the Wyoming experiment, research needed, the U.S.
Congressional Bills to authorize and fund research, and a map of the western state's
current programs. Staff believes this is a good primer for the board to start thinking
about the CWCB/s weather modification permitting program and the Colorado River
Negotiations and provide guidance as to the state's role and future directions. Staff will
bring forward a board memo and draft board weather modification policy for
consideration. It will also be pertinent to include a discussion of the statutes and rules
and regulations and statutes sunset provision for program guidance and clarification.
This will hopefully be presented at the July 2007 CWCB meeting.

.

Dolores Water Conservancy District Seeks General Manager: Applications are
now being accepted for the position of General Manager, Dolores Water Conservancy
District, Cortez, Colorado.
