<br />(PMF) study. The Corps has completed its de~ailed review of the site specific PMP study <br />submitted by Applied Weather Associates (AiW A) on behalf of the CWCB. The CWCB <br />met with A W A and the Corps in March to retiew 31 technical questions regarding the <br />PMP study. The meeting was instrumental infhelping to clarify and solidify the site- <br />specific study findings that are scheduled to ~e used in the PMF analysis as a next step. <br />A W A will provide a formal update to the original PMP study that will incorporate the <br />latest Corps comments. i <br />I <br />I <br />On a related matter, the Corps is required by federal policy to undertake a <br />I <br />reconnaissance level seismic study for the facility as a way of ascertaining qualitative <br />risk from future earthquakes that may impact ~he dam. The Corps is seeking local <br />seismic expertise to participate and review technical information for their seismic report. <br />A meeting is scheduled for mid May to converie a technical advisory group and to <br />I <br />discuss the necessary tasks. The Corps has ple~ged to keep CWCB staff in the loop <br />regarding progress and updates. I <br /> <br />South Platte Working Group: The SPWG iJ comprised of all the communities <br />I <br />located adjacent to the South Platte River in the southern portion of the Denver Metro <br />I <br />Area including, but not limited to, Arapahoe qmnty, Englewood, Littleton, Greenwood <br />Village, Sheridan, South Platte Park, South Sub~rban Parks and Recreation, Columbine <br />Valley, Trust for Public Lands, the Urban Drainklge and Flood Control District, the <br />I <br />CWCB and the Corps of Engineers. The SPWG !convened in October 2006 and submitted <br />a GOCO legacy grant application for $20M in Nlarch 2007 ($7M for land purchase and <br />$13M for area enhancements). The main goals of this group are to obtain parks and <br />open space, develop river corridor continuity arid trail connectivity, and pursue habitat <br />enhancement. This SPWG will only purchase lahds from willing sellers. As the CWCB <br />is a land owner adjacent to the river there is an ~pportunity for collaboration through <br />preserving open space in floodplains, drainage i~provement projects, guiding land use <br />development, and the removal of unwanted str~ctures in the floodplain. The SPWG is <br />meeting with boards and commissions to garner I support and public interest. Letters are <br />being sent to Congressman Tom Tancredo and qongresswoman Diana Degette and staff <br />suggested that letters also be sent to the Governqr's office, DNR Executive Director's <br />office, and CWCB Director to provide additional iawareness of the SPWG mission and <br />I <br />goals. The SPWG will develop a web site in the near future and staff will keep the Board <br />updated on future endeavors. I <br /> <br />Jackson County ISF recommendation negotiations: At its January 24, 2007 <br />meeting the Board tabled the Jackson County ins+eam flow recommendations on Indian <br />Creek, North Fork North Platte River, and South Fork Big Creek for a period of one <br />I <br />year.
