Most of
the site is currently used for agriculture and there is no indication of prairie dog or
burrowing owl activity on site. The site does not fall on the Preble's Meadow
Jumping Mouse Critical Habitat Map, however, the low area at the proposed
Barnesville Equalizer site may be potential habitat and should be evaluated by a
qualified environmental expert early in the design phase to determine if trapping
studies or other measures are necessary.

Based on the current scope of work, the reservoir development would not require
an Army Corps of Engineers 404 Permit. A copy of the Corps of Engineers
jurisdictional determination letter is contained in Appendix E.

IMPLEMENTATION SCHEDULE

The NCLPIC plans to conduct construction in phases starting with the Barnesville
Equalizer.
